Topeka Art Guild and Gallery (5331 SW 22nd - Fairlawn Plaza): The Topeka Art Guild's summer exhibit continues through July with beautiful paintings in all styles and media and photography. Creations of Hope Gallery (909 N Kansas): The Creations of Hope Gallery presents "A Menagerie of Therapeutic Animals" The exhibit features three artists, Jamie Ruff, Stacy Lyddon, and Connie English who illustrate the healing power of animals in their artwork. This exhibit is being sponsored by Hills Pet Nutrition Inc. Additionally, during the July art walk artist Vaughn Graber will be providing demonstrations and information on the craft of wood turning. Woodturning is the process of using a wood lathe with hand-held tools to cut a shape that is symmetrical around an axis of rotation. Norsemen Brewing Company (830 N Kansas): Visit the event hall, on the top floor, every First Friday Art Walk to view artworks of Norsemen Brewing Company's featured artist. This month will be the art of Brian Broxterman and Shah Mendhi. Brian Broxterman has been doing colored pencil work for the past 20 years and has been an artist since he was able to hold a crayon. His work varies in genre's from fan art to friends and family to wildlife. He chose colored pencil as his preferred medium because it is complex and creates challenges for him to set goals at excelling at. Brian is self taught and focuses on hyper-realism or photo-realism and is always searching for that one project that will sure turn heads and raise eyebrows. Shah Mendhi is a Henna Artist. This time I will be adding something new to my services, lets call it Free Hand First Friday. Instead of you choosing the designs from my notebook you can tell me to freehand it for a budget! Glaciers Edge Winery (1636 SE 85th Street - Wakarusa): We will have the tasting porch and patio ready for you to spend your July FFAW at the winery. STUDIO 831 (831 N Kansas): Kathleen Cobb is the Featured Artist at STUDIO 831 for July. Portraying My Love of the Land, Near and Far is the title of her exhibit.“Capturing the beauty of the Kansas landscape and the American West is the main focus of my paintings. I pay special attention to the light in each scene, from the warm light of an autumn evening to the subtle light of a cloudy day, or catching the atmosphere of distant rain squalls over wide-open spaces.” Kathleen works in oil, acrylic, pastel, and most recently, watercolor. She also enjoys drawing and photography. Signed copies of The Fish’s Wishes (now in its third printing) by Glendyn Buckley and illustrated by Barbara Waterman-Peters will be available during the First Friday Art Walk! Matryoshka Tattoo (902 N Kansas) will featured artist Darlene Regnier. Most of the artwork produced by D. Regnier is related to mysticism in the past and present and not only deals with human spiritual and social issues, but, also with beliefs and rituals. These beliefs and rituals are representative of death, life, the occult and faith. Regnier is an educated artist (originally from Omaha, Nebraska) residing now Kansas. She has belonged to several distinguished galleries, such as: The Collective Gallery in Topeka, Kansas and The Thirteenth Street Gallery in Omaha, Nebraska. She has fine artwork owned by Northwestern Bell, Saint Joseph Mental and Geriatric Centers, College of Saint Mary in Omaha, and Clarkson Hospital, etc. She has also worked with the Bemis Foundation in Omaha Nebraska for corporate sales. SouthWind Art Gallery (3074 SW 29th): Start your artwalk with us! Our July show features local artist Edw Balda.
