The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (2401 SW Kingsrow Rd): Everyone is welcome to attend the 5th annual Nativities and Noels. This is a free event that features about 600 nativities, live Christmas music and refreshments. The nativities, which are on loan from church members and friends of other faiths, include ornaments and traditional, miniature, handmade, electric, musical, children's, and international nativities from over 70 countries. They are of various sizes and are made from such materials as porcelain, wood, clay, cloth, paper, beads, marbles, corn husks, coconut shells, gourds, and recycled pop cans, steel drums, and auto parts. Yeldarb Gallery (909 N Kansas): This is the last First Friday Art Walk at Yeldarb Gallery. We will be closing at the end of the year so stop and say goodbye. Community minded artist power couple Justin and Bailey Marable moved to Lawrence a bit over a year ago where Justin has established a studio in the Warehouse Arts District. Matryoshka Tattoo (902 N Kansas): Matryoshka’s featured artist for December is Makenzie Foster. She started drawing at a young age but it wasn't until high school that she began expanding her talents through painting and sculpture. Art has since become a passion of hers and holds a special place in her heart as a hobby that supported her overcoming of depression and anxiety.
