NexLynx Gallery (123 SW 6th, 2nd Floor): Discover art downtown with our opening artist reception for Nancy D. Jones. Her exhibit reflects her love of landscapes and waterscapes from Kansas to other sites throughout the United States, Australia and Europe. From early childhood, art has been part of Nancy's life. Drawing what she saw, molding metal into shapes and intrigued with the texture and color of pastel, watercolor, oil and fabric. Get ready for the holidays and bring a box to collect delicious cookies at each participating location in the Downtown First Friday Cookie Walk. FFAW hours are 5-8p. Creations of Hope Gallery (727 S Kansas): Join the Creations of Hope Gallery as we continue to celebrate our Handmade Holiday Market.  Don't miss your chance to find unique and handcrafted gifts for your loved ones for the holidays!  We will also have live guitar music by Jason Morrison during the artwalk. The Topeka Art Guild & Gallery (5331 SW 22nd Place - Fairlawn Plaza): Topeka Art Guild opens their annual holiday show with all wall art priced for gift giving at $100 or less. Guild members also show a variety of 3-D art for gifting. The guild is a non-profit organization. Shop our local artist members to support arts in our community. Featured artist in December is Connie English, signature member of Kansas Watercolor Society and longtime member of the guild. Also on display will be art works by students from Washburn Rural High School. Join the guild for a fun evening of food and drink. FFAW hours are 5-8p.

Alice C. Sabatini Gallery, Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library (1515 SW 10th): Explore the trenches of World War I, interact with local military re-enactors and learn about the "War to End All Wars" through photographs of the time. "Over There: Americans Abroad in World War I" is a traveling exhibitions from the National Archives showcasing World War I overseas military photography from the immense photographic holdings of the National Archives. The exhibit includes photographs from the fronts, behind the lines, and the consequences of the war and how it was remembered. FFAW hours are 4-8p. Find us on Instagram @topekalibrary.

SOHO Interiors (3129 SW Huntoon): David Zlotky is a fine art photographer who started his art career as a full-time painter. His paintings have garnered national recognition, currently hanging in the National Air and Space Museum, Smithsonian Institution, the Truman Presidential Library and Museum, Air Force Art Collection, while his photographs have been in several major exhibitions. David uses his painter’s aesthetic to make sensitive photographs of the Kansas Flint Hills. There is a story behind every piece. David has added many items for that special gift you want to give. Glaciers Edge Winery (1636 SE 85th in Wakarusa): Its December at the winery! Our featured musician will be Allington Jolly & our featured artist will be Kathy Hazard with her unique pendant jewelry art! Lago Vista Grill will be serving new menu items along with your favorites. Bondbons will be serving gourmet dessert items. Enjoy wine and slushies by the pour or a bottle while enjoying live music! We will be open late to celebrate First Friday! Topeka High (800 Sw 10th): Stop by Topeka High during December's First Friday to see this semester's batch of talented students as they end on a strong note.  We will have work on display from our various media taught. Matryoshka Tattoo (902 N Kansas): Our featured artist is our own Jennifer Bohlander. She is debuting a brand new series of bird paintings. Each bird represents a different part of the world and the folk art that part of the world identifies with. We have some great unique gifts and stocking stuffers available. Sheila Wolf has brought in some new ceramic pieces as well for your holiday shopping. SouthWind Art Gallery (3074 SW 29th): Memorable conversation and the finest art in Northeast Kansas await you at SouthWind Art Gallery's First Friday Artwalk Reception from 5-7p. New paintings by Hugh Greer, Brian Slawson, Dana Hassett, Philip Hershberger, John Roush, and more make up the "Welcome to Winter" exhibition. Amused (907 N Kansas): We are Small but Mighty this month! Local artists have created 6” x 6” pieces of art. A statement on their own or dramatic in a collection. It's easy to find a spot for these. We are also hosting a Chair-ity event benefiting the Quincy Elementary Art Department. Artist have embellished children's chairs to be auctioned off starting Dec. 7 until Dec. 16. All proceeds will go to resupply the school's art department. Regular hours are Weds & Thurs from 1-6p, Fri from 11a-6p, Sat from 11a-5p and Sun from Noon-4p. FFAW hours are 11-9. STUDIO 831 (831 N Kansas): "All of Us!" is the title of our annual group exhibition, featuring a range of media by Michael Bradley, Kathleen Cobb, Anne Kufahl, Diane Lawrence, Gwen McClain, Larry Peters, Hi Stockwell, Lois VanLiew, Trudy Waterman and Barbara Waterman-Peters. Stephen Smith Gallery (931 S Kansas): We're delighted to bring this special evening to you as we enter the holidays. Come visit with the artists and enjoy an evening of great music. Our featured artists, Stacey Karst Utech (fused glass artist), Mike J. Weinbrecht (silver point artist), Madeline Smith (emerging artist) will be joined by classical pianist, Claudia Dillon Fox. Claudia will share, live on the gallery's vintage grand piano, her new CD "Reflections of Christmas From the Heart". FFAW hours are 11a-7:30p.

Beauchamp's Gallery (3113 SW Huntoon - Westboro Mart): Cally Krallman's popular exhibit "Poetic Prairie" continues but with a number of new pieces added since last month. The show continues through year-end.   Also showing will be a collection of ceramic pieces by various artists. 39 West Gallery (909 N Kansas): Santa will be joining us at the gallery from 5-8:30p. Bring the kids so they can let Santa know exactly what they want for Christmas this year. Prairie Glass Studio (110 SE 8th Ave): Come see us on the artwalk this Friday. Our designated non-profit is the YWCA Northeast Kansas. Kymm is generously donating 50% of sales for the day to this wonderful organization. We are also thrilled to feature photographer Karen King on the green wall.
