Please use the form found below to submit original artwork which will be considered for inclusion in the Brown v. Board Mural Project. Deadline for submission is January 26th at 1:00p CST.
Submitted original artwork should be appropriate and available for large-scale reproduction as a part of the design of the mural. For the final design, up to 30 pieces of artwork will be selected for use. Some works will not be reproduced in their entirety and will be subject to interpretation by the team of artists who will paint the mural. If you are interested in helping to paint the mural, please complete the form found here.
Works chosen for inclusion in the mural will speak to the critical importance of justice and equality as well as the central tenets of the Brown v. Board decision. This project is intended to bring history to life and show a vision of the future by offering compelling content and intimate involvement in its creation. This is artwork birthed by a community which will offer decades of impact as a way to create a place which inspires those who created it along with others for whom it becomes a part of the daily landscape and even more who remember it was a formative part of their education, experience and connection to Topeka and the rest of the world.
